The article discusses the expressions of Varouzhan’s exceptional love and admiration for the scholarly and particularly poetic achievements of the Great Armenian, Ghevond Alishan. It reveals testimonies of true appreciation of Alishan’s character through Varouzhan’s visits to Alishan’s grave, his poems and critical works devoted to Alishan, and expressions of his admiration in his letters. Varouzhan’s attitude towards Alishan is reviewed in its long course, starting from his school years to almost the end of his life.
