Fr. Ghevond Alishan's large-scale work “Ancient Faith or Armenian Pagan Religions” presents in detail the deities of the pre-Christian Armenian mythology of the latest period, some of which in the mythology of the earlier period, which historian Artak Movsisyan called the Aratta mythology, has its prototype or imitation, which in later millennia, after a partial change of name or the acquisition of a new name, was considered a new or different deity, in fact continuing, preserving the functions of the prototype god. There are gods who have been completely forgotten due to acquiring new names, such as Haya, Dumuz, Kin, Inanna, Otun, Sin, Marduk, they have been replaced by Ara, Anahit, Astghik, Nane, Vahagn, Mihr with the same functions. The pantheon of Aratta is, in fact, not only the document of the prehistoric higher consciousness of the children of God Haya, but also the testimony of the unique originality of the Armenian cultural identity.
