The article presents and evaluates medieval catalogues of Armenian ma­nu­scripts and the volumes of these manuscripts’ colophons compiled in ancient times, as well as colophons compiled in Modern times in chronological order and according to certain scientific principles. In order to improve the new chro­no­logical volumes it is necessary to use the materials of ancient manuscripts’ ca­talogues and collections of colophons. The most important are the collections compiled by Fr. Ghevond Alishan and Fr. Nerses Aki­nyan, the remaining detailed unpublished collections, the first of which is called "Haykaran. volume VIII”, the second "Collection of colophons". 

Various samples are made-extracts from Alishan’s collection; the data in them are compared with various scientific facts and realities. On the basis of all above mentioned, was developed and approved the point of view, that it is ab­solutely necessary to give needed information with notes, to publish a collection of Ghevond Alishan, scientific value of which is higher than any doubt.
