In this article takes into consideration the patriotic poems of Ghevond Alishan, which are written in modern armenian. These poems in fact laid the foundation to the Armenian patriotic poetry. The author of the article considers these songs as expressions of patriotism based on books and studies, becouse Alishan had never been to Armenia. But in no case this sircumstence weekened the sinserity and depth of his patriotism. Тhe article also considers the assesments given by Egishe Charents to the poetry of Alishan.
