Corrispondenza di Emilio Teza con i padri Mechitaristi di S. Lazzaro
The correspondence of Emilio Teza with the Mekhitarist fathers of St. Lazarus

Bazmavep 2020 / 1-2, pp. 136-263

The correspondence between Emilio Teza and the Mekhitarist Fathers of the island of St. Lazarus is a beautiful example of cultural and spiritual affinity, a true exchange of high-level studies. In these pages you can feel the love for culture, the desire to understand exactly the value of a word, the curiosity to read a rare text, the desire to obtain it.

The attentive reader will notice Teza's particular attention in the translation: the desire to perfectly understand the semantic area of a term, the particular meaning at that point in the text, are all details that make us understand the exceptional rigor, the meticulous precision explained by the author in his work.

Equally, the humility with which he asks for enlightenment from the experts is commendable, the simplicity with which he declares his incompetence on some issue, always in an attempt at improving his knowledge.

Reading this correspondence remains a precious source, a glimpse into the cultural life of the last century; indeed, we may even say intercultural, one of the many faces of the relations between Armenia and Italy, a fruitful relationship that is still active in many fields.
