The article focuses on the history of the relationship between the Arme­nian Kingdom of Cilicia and The Iconium Sultanate referring particularly to the 20-ies of the XIII century. The first part is an overview of their bilateral military and diplomatic negotiations. The author, based on medieval sources, introduces the details of the Iconium Sultanate invasion on Cilician Armenia and the terri­to­rial losses of the Armenian Kingdom.
In the second part, the author, for the first time in historiography, intro­duces the Treaty of Peace between the Armenian King Hetum I and the Iconium sultan Aladdin Kayqubad I. The author states and proves that the agreement between the two countries was signed in 1226 and not in 1228 as stated ear­lier. The article focuses on the content of the Treaty of Peace as well as the si­tua­tion that prevailed in the foreign policy of the Armenian Kingdom of Cilicia after the signing of the Treaty.
